The Agricultural Industries Confederation (AIC) is the agri-supply industry’s leading trade association. It has approximately 250 Members representing Animal Feed, Crop Protection and Agronomy, Fertilisers, Grain Marketing and Seed Sectors with some £7.5 billion turnover at the farmgate. AIC works on behalf of its Members, representing their views to policy makers and stakeholders, delivering information, providing trade assurance and offering technical support.
At a time of significant change throughout the agricultural sector, there is an exciting opportunity for a Sector Head, who is responsible for delivering the requirements and expectations of the AIC Feed Sector. This is a proactive role providing Sector leadership and support, working to improve and provide positive outcomes for AIC Members by influencing external activities of Government, other Policy Makers and Regulators and Industry Stakeholders. Responsibilities will include:
- Proactive delivery of the Feed Sector needs within the overall umbrella of the AIC organisation
- Represent the interests of AIC at meetings with Government Departments, organisations, key stakeholders and agri-supply chain partners
- Manage, communicate and, where appropriate, attend AIC Feed Sector’s work with its European bodies
The Sector Head’s level of engagement is throughout the Membership and the Committee structure, and necessarily needs to be based upon effective working relationships at MD and Technical Director level. Similarly, the Sector Head needs to have the necessary gravitas to interact with Senior Officials, Policymakers and Politicians in both the UK and abroad. Candidates will need to have an in-depth knowledge of the Feed Sector and animal production. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills will be coupled with the capability of turning strategy into deliverable actions.
An attractive salary and benefits package is available to the successful candidate.
